Scientist-D/Joint Director, Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS)

Alismita Khag is a standards professional serving as Scientist-D at the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and holding the rank of Joint Director in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Government of India. She is actively involved in the development, coordination, and implementation of national standards, particularly in the areas of electronics and information technology. In her role at BIS, she contributes to technical standardization processes, supports the work of sectional committees, and facilitates the formulation and harmonization of Indian Standards with international benchmarks such as those of ISO and IEC. Her work also involves engaging with industry, academia, and government stakeholders to promote the adoption of standards, strengthen quality infrastructure, and support emerging technology ecosystems in India.
