Mr. S B Lakhapati, a highly accomplished and esteemed power sector professional with an illustrious career spanning over 32 years, stands as an exemplary leader in the renewable industry. With a career that began as a Graduate Engineering Trainee (GET) at TATA Power, Mr. Lakhapati has consistently demonstrated his ability to excel in various roles within Hydro Generation, Transmission and Renewable Verticals. Mr. S B Lakhapati is an electrical engineering graduate from Walchand College of Engineering, Sangli, Maharashtra. Mr. Lakhapati is presently working as Head Engineering – Group Captive (West), Solar, BESS & Wind at Tata Power Solar Systems Limited (TPSSL) and is responsible for Engineering of Hybrid RE projects involving Solar, Wind & BESS. He is also responsible for evaluation & implementation of upcoming next generation Energy Storage and Wind technologies. He has immensely contributed in Recently Commissioned, first MW scale Hybrid project with Solar + 40 MW / 120 MWh Battery storage project in Chhattisgarh, wherein he has contributed in Indianisation of BESS components in collaboration with TACO. Before assuming his current position in TPSSL Mr. Lakhapati’s journey at TATA Power has been marked by significant contributions. First 16 years of his career he was responsible for O&M of 100 MW Bhivpuri Hydro Generating Station, and next 11 years in Transmission Engineering with specialisation in design of GIS, AIS & Traction sub stations. Since last 5 years, he is responsible for Engineering of utility scale Hybrid RE projects involving Solar, Wind & BESS.
