Neha Agarwal is presently working as Scientist-D & Joint Director in the Electrotechnical Department of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). She is a graduate in Electrical Engineering. She joined Bureau of Indian Standards in the year 2016 and is working in the standard formulation activity for the last 9 years. Presently, she is Member Secretary of the National committees responsible for the formulation of Indian Standards on Grid Integration of Renewables, Lighting, Tools & equipment for Live working. As member secretary of various National committees under the Electrotechnical Dept. of Bureau of Indian Standards, she has contributed effectively in the development of national standards on the above-mentioned subjects. Some of the important standards published/under development by these committees are Indian standard on energy efficient induction motors, safety requirements for battery management system, safety requirements for energy storage systems, standard on cord extension sets, etc. She has also represented India during various international meetings of IEC (International Electrotechnical Committee) and is a member of various working groups/maintenance teams under IEC committees. As a member of these IEC committees, she has contributed effectively in the development of international standards and projected India specific requirements during IEC meetings.
