Bárbara Teruel
Professor and Researcher UNICAMP

Bárbara Teruel is Associate Professor III and Researcher, at the College of Agricultural Engineering of the State University of Campinas, in Brazil. She is a Mechanical Engineer, with a Master's and Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering, with a focus on Energy Systems Planning (UNICAMP, 1996-2000). She has a specialization in Automation and Control of Agro-industrial Processes (2006). She coordinates technological development projects in the areas of Digital Precision Agroindustry, Energy Efficiency, Production Chains and Sustainability. The projects in which she works as Principal Researcher have received funding from government agencies and the private sector. At the São Paulo Center for Energy Transition Studies (CPTEn https://cpten.unicamp.br/) she is Coordinator of the Bioenergy in Agriculture Axis, involving partnerships with companies in the field of tractors for agriculture (Mahindra Rise) and biofuel manufacturers. She has a technological patent granted and the Innovative Minds Award, in the Agriculture category, promoted by Bayer S.A and LifeHub São Paulo (2021). She is an executor of international agreements and a collaborator with Universities in Europe, North, Central and South America. She worked as a Consultant for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO, 2010).
