Director – Market Operations, Grid Controller of India

SS Barpanda has been recommended for the post of Director (Market Operation) of Power System Operation Corporation Limited (POSOCO), a public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Power in India. Barpanda is currently serving as Executive Director in the same organisation. He has an engineering degree in Electronics from Sambalpur University and joined POSOCO in 2010 as Deputy General Manager, rising up the ladder to become Executive Director. POSOCO was formed in 2009 to handle the power management functions of POWERGRID and is responsible for managing power system operations in India, including the National Load Despatch Centre and five Regional Load Despatch Centers.
